Aishwarya Rai Deliver Baby girl on 16 Nov 2011

The speculation over the date of birth of Aishwarya Rai's baby girl was finally over when Abhishek Bachchan tweeted, "It's a Baby Girl." 

Speculation over the exact date of birth was rife soon after it was known that she would deliver in November.

First it was predicted that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan  would deliver on her birthday -- November 1. But that did not happen. 

Later bookies were betting on another date: The lucky 11.11.11. According to one news report, Rs 150 crore were riding on that bet. But Ash (and Mother Nature) did not oblige 

When Aishwarya Rai was spotted on Monday night at Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai, with father in law Amitabh Bachchan and husband Abhishek Bachchan it was now predicted that the baby would show on November 14 or November 15. But she left the hospital the same day after a regular check up. 

She arrived the next day again with her family in tow and got admitted. Though television journalists opted for restraint and did not cover the event a few press photographers clicked her entering the hospital. 

So was November 15 going to be the Big (B) Day? Nope. Ash skipped November 15 and the wee little girl arrived early morning November 16.

All set to deliver her child in a few days, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has lashed out at "regressive remarks" surrounding her pregnancy.

The former Miss World, who is expecting her first child with husband Abhishek Bachchan, released a statement crushing most rumours surrounding her pregnancy.

She quashed rumours that she plans to undergo a C-section on 11.11.11 or that special arrangements are made for her checkups at the hospital where she will deliver. Clearly, Aishwarya is miffed with all the baseless speculation.

Considered the most beautiful woman in the world, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has two reasons to celebrate November; for one, she turns 38 today and, for another, she will be delivering her first child with husband Abhishek Bachchan later this month.

The blue-eyed girl of the Indian film industry, this former Miss World has, for more than a decade, given a face to India in the international entertainment industry.

Shahrukh Khan cuts his birthday cake

Panned by many critics, Shahrukh Khan’s dream project Ra.One, however, is doing just fine at box office. 

The film has raked in close to Rs. 92 crore in its extended 5-day weekend that began on Wednesday, the day of Diwali. The response to both the 2D version and the 3D version has been good.

Here’s the five-day break up: The film opened on Friday with a collection of around Rs. 18 crore that peaked to Rs. 25 crore on Thursday. Friday saw a dip in the collection to Rs. 15 crore. What’s a tad disappointing is that the film did not pick up as expected on Saturday and Sunday. Its Saturday collection was Rs. 16 crore approx and on Sunday it made Rs. 17 crore.

These figures include the collections from the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions as well.

However, it would still require this week’s collections to figure out if the movie can indeed be declared a hit. Remember, Ra.One has been made on a whopping budget of close to Rs. 150 crore.

The film may have been trashed by critics in India, the west, particularly the critics in the US, have lavished praises on the movie. 

Deluxe hospital room booked for Aishwarya Rai’s delivery

As the opening days of November tick by, Aishwarya Rai’s due date draws closer.
The actress is due to deliver her baby sometime in the middle of November. Befittingly, the Bachchans have got a deluxe VIP room booked in the Seven Hills Hospital in Marol, Andheri. It is said to be one of the best hospitals in the city.

The booking, we hear, is from November 10 to 15, which means that Ash is expected to deliver between these dates.

Two different ceremonies of godh bharai have been conducted so far, one by Aishwarya’s in-laws and one by her parents.

Aishwarya is believed to be under the care of Dr. Vinita Salvi. She meets her gynaecologist early morning to avoid media attention.

Interestingly, if Ash’s baby is delivered in the days expected, he or she or they (might be twins) would have the same zodiac sign as the mother: Scorpio

We have heard almost every Bollywood star being linked up in some controversial affair or the other. This time it is none other than King Khan himself! However, the undisputed king of Bollywood is not amused with the allegations of an affair between him andPriyanka Chopra that is being suggested by the media.

Every actor in tinsel town has always been under the scrutiny of the press and even the remotest action on the part of the actor spreads like wildfire. We have heard about plenty of link-ups, break-ups and fall-outs between stars and this time round, it is an alleged closeness between Shahrukh Khan and the dazzling Priyanka Chopra.

If rumours are to be believed, the two have been seen together quite often. Priyanka was first seen close-up with King Khan, cheering for his team, the Kolkata Knight Riders at IPL4. Post the IPL; the two were spotted together on several occasions, attending different events, many a time walking hand in hand. PC even admitted that she had a huge crush on SRK.

The two however ignored all the rumours that were arising, but these rumours simply began to grow out of proportion until SRK put down his foot and brushed off all silly allegations that were coming out of fictitious minds. He said that he had no inkling to where such news took birth.

One thing that is worth stating is Priyanka’s short cameo in Shahrukh’s ambitious project, Ra One. Apparently, PC was not seen at the music launch of the film, which led the media to make further assumptions. So finally, when one of the reporters asked about her absence from the launch, SRK was not in the least amused by the question. He retorted starkly, “Actually it was I who told them (Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt) not to come, as your nonsensical questions would only put someone in a spot.”

So what is the King Khan really trying to prove? Is he trying to conceal the truths of a whispered affair or is he plainly avoiding PC for now?

Everywhere there was one thing thronging people’s mind present at the music release of ‘Rascals’. The leading lady of the film Kangna Ranaut was missing from the party. And no, it wasn’t any other commitment of hers which kept her away from the event. Rather much to everyone’s surprise, the actress wasn’t invited by the makers of the film at all.

An industry insider reveals that Ajay and Sanjay are miffed with the fair skinned lady. She doesn’t come in good books of these stars. And because of this, she would be absent from the film promotions also. When she was not invited at the music release of the film, Sanjay and Ajay made the speculations pretty clear that Kangana isn’t important for them anymore.

At various other occasions the two stars have turned cold shoulders to Kangna Ranaut but this time there is nothing left to speculations and thoughts. It had cleared that they don’t want to be associated with the lass at any cost. The sources from the industry are whispering that the reason behind the rivalry is Sanjay-Ajay’s war with Kangna.

Actually it so happened that Kangana had been flaunting of her association with these two men for quite a while. This not only miffed these two men but their wives Manyata and Kajol also. Too much of flaunting of connection irked the star jodis, hence they tried to keep themselves away from Kangana. It wouldn’t be surprising for anyone now that Kangana won’t be a part of any future projects of these two actors.

However, Sanjay Ahluwalia, the co-producer of the film has some different story to tell us. According to him there is no anger of controversy between the two actors and Kangana that kept her away for the event. Rather it was a unprofessional behavior of Kangana that she has been deliberately kept away from the film’s marketing.

The makers of the film are upset with the actress as she tried to hike her acting price as the film proceeded towards its completion.  “She left the dubbing mid-way and refused to co-operate unless her remuneration was hiked. Now, the producers have also filed a complaint against her in CINTAA for the same,” says a source.

Another source adds, “Kangana has been going about town talking about her bikini look on her own without the film’s publicists being involved.”

“Everyone in the industry knows the clout that the two stars hold. It would be ridiculous to think that they had nothing to do with this at all. They are clearly targeting Kangana,” adds another source.

Shahrukh Khan believes it is time that Bollywoodmade itself more prominent and gave Hollywood some tough competition.

King Khan foresees that Bollywood might be slowly ending into an unpromising future with its number of audiences declining rapidly in the years to come.

This he says is because of the rising popularity of Hollywood films in India. “French, Italian, German and Polish cinemas have already suffered their fates as they lost ground to Hollywood and now it is our turn to end up in the same manner. My son doesn’t think I am cool enough. I am not against Hollywood films. It is just that I want our kids to watch Indian films and to learn from our culture and be proud of it,” says Shahrukh.

He asks why we expect an American superhero to come and save the earth, every time we are faced with a dire crisis. “Why can we not have our own superhero? We have had several in our mythology. I have grown up on comics of “Bahadur”,” said the actor who is playing the role of a superhero, G.One in his upcoming film Ra.One.

The film, he said, signified a new kind of villain, one that was born out of the evils of the digital age. However, the film offers a message too, “Never make a wish, without thinking about it first.”

With great pomp and show, like it used to be once, the music for the film, which is slated for release on Diwali, was launched at the Mumbai Film City. “Chhammak Chhalo” sung by international pop star Akon, was the burning highlight of this dazzling evening. “My son adores him. It was quite surprising how with only three hours of practice, Akon managed to sing the song without a hitch. This goes on to show that the huge size of the Indian audience, makes everyone want to entice them.”

When asked about the condemnation of him using the same buttons when it came to acting, Khan smoothly replied, “The Germans tell me that every time I press a button, Indians begin to cry. It was however different with Ra.One. It was not easy breathing in a superhero suit.”

As for the promotional campaigns, it is the emotional substance that is being highlighted. “It is a bit like an Aziz Mirza film, with a hero, villain and a mother and son caught in the web of happenings. However, once the action gets going, it can be compared to one of the finest in the world. The film may or may not satisfy, but it will certainly be a leading light for Bollywood,” added the Badshah.

He remarked that you couldn’t control emotions and storytelling, but you could definitely conquer technology. He wanted his team to make a superhero film that would stand out. “Our technicians have been offering small services to Hollywood projects, but now we can give them an opportunity to make something big here. Why should only small producers take the risks? I think it is the bigger producers who must show the others the way.”

Ra.One, which is one of the most costly films in the industry, will be released in 2D and 3D with Tamil and Telegu dubbed versions as well. “One of the scenes in the film pays tribute to Rajni Sir, “ says Khan who amazingly had been the first choice for Shankar’s “Robot”, but had declined the offer due to a few creative disparities.

Not wanting any controversial hype about the film, Shahrukh Khan smiled, “We have seen many mother and son films, now it’s time for a father and son duo. I would request you to see the film with a clean heart as it is made with a clean heart.”

As excitement builds up around the new season of Bigg Boss, we bring you a sneak peek into the interiors and many features of the famed house.


The house is built in Karjat, 90 km from Mumbai at ND Studio. The 9000 sq ft property comes with great surprises this season. The outer area ringed by cameras is around 5,500 sq ft. There are 55 cameras and 60 microphones installed on the property.

The house looks very compact, leaving barely enough space for the housemates to spend time by themselves. But after last year's drama involving a single bedroom for the house's 14 housemates, this season the house has two separate bedrooms.

Aritra Mukherjee, editor-in-chief of Bigg Boss (Endemol) says, "In fact, the house is bigger this season because there are three bedrooms.


The bedrooms are unisex this season too.  We have never forced contestants to sleep separately. If they wish to do so it is entirely their choice."

There are different kinds of bedrooms. One has pink walls, pink sheets and crystal lampshades. The second one has green sheets and is slightly smaller than the pink one.

And the third one is for the captain of the house who will get to enjoy a personal bedroom with a private toilet and other privileges.

The jail is back! Double Vaat means punishments galore and the bad guy will surely get locked up.

The kitchen sink has been placed in the garden area to irk the housemates. "The only reason that sink is outside is because the contestants will do more and stay fit," says Mukherjee

One thing is sure as you look at the house: tolerance levels will be tested and arguments will erupt!

An addition to the house is the Zorb, a transparent orb like enclosure in the garden area specially created for the Head-of-House where entry is 'by invitation only'.

Now the Head-of-House can spend quality time with his/her confidantes and plot some much-expected manipulation.

The design of the house is transparent, that is, one can view the entire expanse of the house from the entrance -- bedrooms, outdoor and living sections.

It is also moulded into different shapes and sizes and gives a bubble gum effect. Adding to the bubble effect is a pink open kitchen in the left corner of the living room.

There is a dining area next to the kitchen that extends to the garden.

"Bigg Boss always had an integrated dining area but this time there is a separate dining area," says Mukherjee.

The outdoor area has gained more prominence with a pool and gymnasium.

Designer Shayam Bhatia has designed the house. With over 55 cameras following their every move 24x7, the 14 housemates will barely be out of Big Boss's sight.
